Glitch_Art

Installation
Winter 2011

Glitch_Art is an audio/visual installation manipulating sound and image files. The sound files are converted into images, altered visually, and converted back into sound files creating a new audio track distorted by the change. The manipulation of the audio you are are hearing and the image you are seeing are the same experience interpreted by two different senses.  The domes over head allow the sound to be directly focused so one viewer at a time can experience the piece free from headphones and outside noise.

The unmethodical process of creating glitch art mimics the beauty of imperfection in chance, while pixels are reminiscent of cubism. The work is completely out of the artist’s hands as they are only present to set up the rules and restrictions that the art must follow while creating itself.
