Absolution is the forgiveness a confessor receives from The Sacrament of Reconciliation. Whether they receive this forgiveness from a deity or from themselves the act of confession is therapeutic and necessary for mental health. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a piece that speaks to all members of the audience as no one is without of guilt. It allows the viewer to confess their deepest secrets and desires without the danger of reveal. These confessions are collected through the microphone alter and put on display in a vacuum bell jar. Although it is visually clear that the speaker system inside the bell jar is functioning, not a sound may be heard in the void.
